Floods in Kemayoran Underpass will Be Resolved Soon

Mayor of Central Jakarta, Mangara Pardede, monitoring flood in underpass in front of Ghandi Memorial International School, Jalan Landasan Pacu, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (2/22) He predicted, it can be handled up to four days ahead.

This condition is because the existing pump is incomparable with the incoming water

"We've sent two pumps from Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. and two pumps from Water Resources Sub-dept., to suck up from underpass," he expressed.

According to him, water level in underpass has receded gradually. If rain pours again, suctioning process will take a long time.

"This condition is because the existing pump is incomparable with the incoming water. That's why we have difficulties to fix it because this pump belongs to the Kemayoran Complex Management Center (PPKK)," he stated.

The problem has been forwarded to Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat. Related to pumps status, has been taken seriously and will be discussed with State Secretary Minister

As for the information, the vehicle cannot pass through the underpass since Monday (2/20) morning due to flood as high as seven meters. Thus the officer had to close it.
